Smoked Meatloaf, Smokin' With Chris, Southington
While the whole menu at Chris's is enticing, the smoked meatloaf is likely to be one of the best hunks of smoked meat you've tasted. This roll of ground pork and beef is stuffed with ham and smoked gouda, then slow cooked at 200 degrees and topped with Chris's orange-tinged barbecue sauce. When driving to the restaurant, make sure to leave the windows down. About a half mile away, the smell of delicious barbecue will let your taste buds know what's coming.
Price: $16.95 (includes two sides), 59 W Center St., Southington, 860-620-9133, www.smokinwithchris.com
