Melissa McCarthy debuts trailer for ‘The Boss,’ set in Chicago

Melissa McCarthy plays an entrepreneur who’s sent to prison in Chicago for insider trading in “The Boss.”

The Plainfield native debuted the trailer for the movie, which was filmed in part in Chicago, Thursday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The sneak peek features several shots of the city including the skyline at night, the lakefront and “L” trains.

McCarthy, who plays rich lady Michelle Darnell, is sentenced to serve time in the made-up Addison Correctional Facility in Chicago. She tries to rebrand herself when she’s released months later.

The comedy was mostly shot in Atlanta but McCarthy and Kristen Bell, who plays her business partner, filmed in Lakeview in May.

“The Boss,” which was initially called “Michelle Darnell,” is slated to hit theaters April 8.
