Chicago comedian Hannibal Buress is not good at milking goats or making food or feeding goats.
Buress, 32, posted his 2014 pilot “Unemployable,” which shows him trying out different jobs in Louisiana, much to the chagrin of his bosses. He attempts to work on a goat farm and at a New Orleans grill.
“My conclusion is goats kind of suck. They’re not as smart as dogs; they won’t protect you if you have a burglar; they’re very needy,” Buress said in the pilot. “I would never buy a goat, even at a discount.”
At the diner, the West Side native cooked a burger made of pancake batter and butter for a customer who deemed the concoction “horrible.”
“Working in a diner was fun. I learned that being drunk on the job helps you,” said Buress, who recently performed at Zanies.
The pilot, which includes Buress stand-up about his odd jobs, was for Comedy Central. He is a veteran of the comedy network, with appearances on “Broad City” and a special, “Hannibal Buress: Live from Chicago.” “Why? with Hannibal Buress” aired over the summer.
“I was excited about it so two days after we submitted, I announced that it was picked up for 10 episodes,” Buress wrote on his Tumblr about the pilot. “It wasn’t picked up for 10 episodes but I felt like putting it out into the universe. That didn’t work out but television is made to be seen so here it is.”
