Just days after comedian Amy Schumer and Chicago furniture designer Ben Hanisch went public with their relationship, Schumer gushed about Hanisch on the Golden Globes red carpet.

“We’re in love and it’s really exciting,” Schumer told People magazine Sunday.

Schumer, 34, walked the red carpet with her sister Kim Caramele. Her movie “Trainwreck” was nominated in the best motion picture (musical or comedy) category but the award went to “The Martian” and she was nominated for best performance in a musical or comedy but the award went to “Joy” star Jennifer Lawrence, who presented an award with Schumer early in the evening.

So excited for this talented woman tonight!

On Monday, Schumer thanked Hanisch on Instagram for being her date after the show.

The couple publicized their relationship on social media this month and have had fun with the attention they have received.

“(‘Inside Amy Schumer’) Season 5 got picked up! And my boyfriend and I got engaged and married and had a baby and he cheated on me with the nanny! Entertainment,” Schumer tweeted Tuesday after Comedy Central announced it picked up her show for another season.

Schumer also denied tabloid reports last week that she and Hanisch met through the dating site Bumble.

Schumer has been a familiar sight in Chicago lately. She performed a sold-out show at the North Side club Constellation last month with Chicago native John Mulaney and her brother, Chicago bass clarinetist Jason Stein.
