Ultimate Backyard Makeover
Linda's Story
My husband, a master craftsman, built our home and maintained it on his own for the last 35 years. Sadly, he was killed in a tragic worksite accident last November, and the yard remains as it was on the last day of his life. He was 58 years old.

Last summer he added a small sunroom, which included bulldozer work, and as seen in the picture, the back yard was dug up. He had plans to finish the landscaping this spring and summer, which would include raking and reseeding the lawn, a stone retaining wall to the right of the house, a walkway, and a patio with a perennial garden in front of the sunroom. He also had begun pulling up rotted timbers along a walkway to the right of the house so he could replace it with brick. The timbers and piles of brick still lay where he left them.

To the left, out of the picture, there is a deep ditch unfilled where he intended to store his garden tools. At this time, it is dangerous to get to our outside faucet due to the drop off. My daughters and I are unable to do this work ourselves, and since his death, we are in a precarious financial situation. It would be a wonderful honor and tribute to my husband to have the yard finished as he had envisioned. Thank you for considering our lawn for the "Backyard Makeover."
