With his new late-night talk show set to debut on NBC next month, Seth Meyers has added to his already Chicago-centric writing staff with the hiring of former iO and Second City performer Amber Ruffin, a source close to the show confirmed.

Like Meyers, Ruffin is also an alumnus of Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. Incidentally, she was among the group of black women who Lorne Michaels brought in last month to audition for “Saturday Night Live.”

Her Second City mainstage revues include “Between Barak and a Hard Place.” On “Late Night with Seth Meyers” she joins former Chicagoans such as John Lutz and Peter Grosz (among many others).

The show premieres Feb. 24.
