Northbrook's Krewella team up with Nicky Romero on 'Legacy'

Music video for Nicky Romero's new song "Legacy," featuring Krewella.

If music videos were more like the one Nicky Romero and Krewella made for their song, “Legacy,” maybe people would actually start paying attention to them again.

The video features Romero DJing with high-tech equipment in the background while Krewella sisters and Northbrook natives Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf belt out the dance song on a graffiti-covered bridge. The real star of the Kyle Padilla-directed video, however, is the interesting plot.

It revolves around a mother who wears a wig due to cancer and her teenage son, who she discovers has snuck out of the house one night. The kid and his friends are shown terrorizing her office co-workers at their respective homes and shaving their heads against their will.

Make sure to watch this one until the end.

Krewella – best known for its hit “Alive” -- will perform Nov. 16 at Aragon Ballroom. Look for my Krewella interview in the print edition of the Chicago Tribune that week.
