Kate Winslet and husband Ned Rocknroll appear to have a penchant for nicknames as real names: The couple has reportedly named their newborn Bear.

As in, the animal. As in, roar.

The little guy, the Oscar-winning actress’ third child, was born on Dec. 7 in Britain and clocked in at 9 pounds.

Winslet’s spokesperson confirmed to People that the tot’s name was Bear Winslet, the mag reported Monday.

“They are doing well, they both absolutely adore him – and the name Bear,” a source told the Sun (via the Daily Mail).

Hey, it could have been worse. It could have been Bear Rocknroll, no?

In Hollywood, where oddly fantastic celebrity baby names run rampant, the name Bear is not that uncommon. “Clueless” alum Alicia Silverstone named her son Bear Blu in 2011 and “Man vs. Wild” Bear Grylls also shares the grizzly moniker. (It should be noted that Grylls’ real name is Edward Michael, and though he goes by Bear, it’s really just a nickname.)

Winslet and Rocknroll, nephew of Virgin honcho Richard Branson, married last December and announced that they were having a child together in June.

The actress already has two children: 13-year-old daughter, Mia Honey, with first husband Jim Threapleton and a 9-year-old son, Joe, with second husband Sam Mendes.

And, in case you were wondering, Rocknroll was born Abel Smith, but had his name legally changed to Ned Rocknroll in 2008, according to the Daily Mail, because he could.

Here’s to little Bear following suit.
