Greg Cameron will take over as the new executive director of the Joffrey Ballet July 1 after leaving his post as chief operating officer of Window to the World Communications, Inc., the parent company of WTTW-Ch. 11 and WFMT-FM, the dance troupe announced Tuesday.
The widely respected arts executive was promoted to his current post with the public broadcasting operation two years ago after serving as executive vice president and chief development officer there. Previously, he worked in top positions for the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Cameron, 55, arrives at the troupe after a spell of behind-the-scenes tension in management. He replaces Christopher Clinton Conway, who resigned in the spring.
