Drake didn’t head straight to his next tour stop like some artists do after his show Saturday at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park. The “Best I Ever Had” rapper kept the party going in the Chicago-area that night an the night after that.
Drake hosted his after party at V Live in Logan Square Saturday and, according to the video above (Warning: Language is NSFW), performed for the crowd.
“I’m (going to) let you know, I can honestly say tonight was like the greatest show I’ve ever had in my life, so if you were there, I appreciate you,” Drake told the V Live crowd, “And I said to myself, I’m (going to) come to this club, but I’m not just going to stand up here and drink and act too cool. We about to have a (expletive) party tonight.”
Apparently not everyone on hand for the scheduled appearance was a Drake fan. Someone in the crowd threw something (I’m guessing a drink or ice) at Drake around the 4:30 mark in the video. It could have gotten really ugly if not for the fact that he and his entourage didn’t know who threw it.
“I wish you would point yourself out, I really do,” Drake said. “I’d come down there and (mess) you up myself. I wish you would, but of course not.”
On Sunday, Drake started his night with dinner at Sunda. He ordered the Miso cod and drank Hennessy VS and Red Bull. After that, he headed to The Underground, where he ordered 10 bottles and partied until around 3 a.m.
Where did he stay while in the Chicago-area? I’m not sure, but he did name drop The Elysian hotel in the Gold Coast on The Game’s “Good Girls Go Bad” before it became the Waldorf Astoria. For those who haven’t heard the song, Drake raps “Good evenin’, I’m in Chicago at the Elysian with some girls who say they models but, hmmm, I don’t believe ’em.”
(UPDATED: Drake was seen leaving the Peninsula hotel and watching basketball at Bull & Bear Monday.)
Drake’s next show is Tuesday in Memphis, so it’s possible he’ll stay in Chicago Monday. Who knows? Maybe you’ll see him out having lunch or shopping. I saw him walk into Barney’s New York in the Gold Coast two years ago. Drake seems to roll about five to seven deep, so he’s pretty hard to miss.
