Bummed you never had the guts to slap on your best Batman armor last spring and enter the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay at McCormick Place? Intimidated by the depth of detail and craftsmanship that went into some of those costumes (remember the Transformers suit — that didn’t even win)? You have a chance at redemption.

Registration for the second annual C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay opened Wednesday morning on the C2E2 website. But there’s the twist this year: The winner of the cosplay competition at New York Comic Con will be representing.

In short: Just as the World Series is really a competition among two teams from the United States, the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay is now a struggle between two cities.

For the record, Chicago: Representing New York is Michael Wong, who won the New York cosplay championship by creating an elaborate dragon that he appeared to ride around on.

In other words: Step it up, nerds.
