What's opening in theaters next week

Opening Friday:

"The Intern" (PG-13): Robert De Niro stars as a bored 70-year-old retiree who decides to get back in the game by interning at an online fashion site run by Anne Hathaway.

"Pawn Sacrifice" (PG-13): Tobey Maguire stars as the chess prodigy Bobby Fischer, who squared off against the Soviet Union champion (Liev Schreiber) at the height of the Cold War.

"The New Girlfriend" (R): The always unpredictable Francois Ozon ("Swimming Pool," "Potiche," "8 Women") returns with this thriller about a woman who learns that the husband of her best friend, who recently passed away, is harboring a big secret.

"Hotel Transylvania 2" (PG): Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez and Kevin James return as the voices of the creatures and humans at the monsters-only resort.

"Stonewall" (R): Roland Emmerich ("Independence Day," "Anonymous") directs this fact-based drama about the 1969 riots at the Greenwich Village bar in New York City that started the modern-day gay rights movement.

"The Green Inferno" (R): Director Eli ("Hostel") Roth's long-delayed gorefest, about a group of student activists who run afoul of cannibals deep inside the Amazon's rainforests, is an homage to gross-out cult favorites such as 1980's controversial "Cannibal Holocaust."

"The Second Mother" (R): In Brazil, a live-in housekeeper must deal with the sudden reappearance of her estranged daughter.

In stores Tuesday:

"Pitch Perfect 2" (DVD/Blu-ray): Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Hailee Steinfeld lead the Barden Bellas into another song-and-dance competition. The box office smash is accompanied by a healthy serving of extras, including a commentary track and deleted scenes.

"The Sentinel" (Blu-ray): Martin Balsam, Ava Gardner, Christopher Walken, Eli Wallach, John Carradine and Beverly D'Angelo pop up in supporting roles in this creepy 1977 horror cult favorite about the perils of apartment hunting.

"Moonrise Kingdom" (DVD/Blu-ray): Wes Anderson's winsome 2012 comedy about two young runaways gets a Criterion Collection re-release, accompanied by a heap of supplements.

"The Flash: The Complete First Season" (DVD/Blu-ray): Year one of the surprise smash TV series, starring Grant Gustin as the fastest man on Earth.
