The CW announced its lineup for the 2014-2015 season Thursday and it doesn’t include the Chicago-based “Supernatural” spinoff, “Supernatural: Bloodlines.”

“Bloodlines” filmed mostly in Vancouver but was set in Chicago and briefly filmed here for three days in March. “Supernatural” introduced the “Bloodlines” characters during an episode that aired April 29. In the episode — known in Hollywood as a backdoor pilot — “Supernatural” protagonists Sam and Dean Winchester visit Chicago — home to five rival mob families made up of monsters — and met “Bloodlines” protagonists Ennis Ross and David Lassiter.

“We would love to shoot everything in Chicago,” “Bloodlines” writer and executive producer Andrew Dabb told the Tribune in March, “but that remains to be seen at this point. It’s a question of economics.”

Fox’s hip-hop pilot “Empire” also filmed in Chicago around that time. But unlike “Bloodlines,” it has been ordered to series. The show will “likely” shoot in Chicago, according to a Fox spokesperson.
