Olympian Matt Grevers to appear at Maryland State Fair

The Baltimore Sun

A gold-medal-winning Olympic swimmer is going to be appearing this weekend at the Maryland State Fair.

No, sigh, it's not Michael Phelps.

It's Matt Grevers, who's no slouch when it comes to prowess in the pool. And hey, let's face it, Phelps would be mobbed. With Grevers, you've got an excellent chance at face-time with a certified champion -- he won two golds in London, in the 100-meter backstroke and the 400-meter medley relay.

And Grevers won't be the only Olympian at the fair. Klete Keller will also be there; he earned five Olympic medals, including gold in 2004 as part of the 4x200-meter relay.

Grevers and Keller are part of BP's Team USA Experience. Besides sharing corn dogs and funnel cake with medal-winners, people will be able to try their skill at Olympic games.

The Olympians will be at the fair Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
