The best part of this results show was Julianne Hough!
She's one of my favorite pros on the show, although she hasn't been a cast member recently. She's been too busy, I guess, recording country music, dating Ryan Seacrest and cutting loose in the remake of "Footloose."
Her first dance sequence was to promote the movie and later in the show she danced with her brother, fellow-pro Derek. At least it wasn't a rumba or samba -- that would just be creepy!
Landing in the bottom three this week were Rob Kardashian, Chynna Phillips and Nancy Grace.
Chynna's freeze on the dance floor last night sealed her fate and she was voted off. It's too bad because she really showed so much promise as a strong dancer starting with week one. Lesson learned: The audience neither forgets nor forgives gaffes on the dance floor.
Two dancers who seemed genuinely surprised (again!) to be saved by viewers' votes this week were Carson Kressley and Chaz Bono. Both have a big fan base despite repeatedly earning lukewarm praise from the judges panel.
Also featured this week was a montage of interviews with the cast about the immense stress and pressure the dancers feel on the show. I get it. Dance is physically demanding. No doubt. Learning new styles and then mastering stage presence is a challenge. But I can't help but think it's a tad melodramatic.
Or as Rob Kardashian put it, there's rehearsal, then a wardrobe fitting, then interviews, then more rehearsal, "then maybe you have to go get a spray tan." Yep. That's a tough life.
