Spooner, a New England product, was inspired by the work of Neil Young, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder among others. His most recent album, "Sea Monster," has been warmly received by radio programmers in the Triple A (adult album alternative) format.
Hailing from Bradford, England, Scars on 45 share a melodic, polished approach with groups such as Snow Patrol and Keane. Scars on 45 has been highlighted in SPIN magazine's Next Big Things issue. The band also played a number of high-profile showcases at the annual South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., June 6, 2011 – Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. will host a free “Concert on the James” July 1, 2011 featuring up-and-coming musical groups Scars on 45 and the Jason Spooner Trio.
Working in cooperation with radio station 92.3 FM The Tide and the Williamsburg Yorktown Daily, Kingsmill Resort will host the open-air concert on the grassy area behind the Eagles restaurant featuring the golf course and the James River as its backdrop. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the Jason Spooner Trio taking the stage at 7 p.m., directly followed by Scars on 45. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Kingsmill Resort, and no outside food or drink will be permitted. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to enjoy lawn seating during the event.
Scars on 45’s debut single “Give Me Something” quickly made it into the Top 5 on the charts for Triple A radio, the format of the locally owned 92.3 FM The Tide.
