In the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association girls Division II basketball quarterfinals, No. 2 seed Williamsburg Christian Academy and No. 3 Hampton Roads Academy won Wednesday to set up a 4:30 p.m. Friday semifinal between them at the Wakefield School in Northern Virginia.
WCA’s Keyana Brown had 19 points, six steals and three assists as the Eagles cruised to a 73-32 win over No. 7 Fredericksburg Christian.
Rachel Lia scored 20 and Braysia Hicks 18 as HRA won 69-48 over No. 6 Highland, a Warrenton team that ousted No. 11 Walsingham Academy the previous night.
Also in Division II, Danielle Webster had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Norfolk Christian as the No. 4 Ambassadors defeated No. 5 Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 57-37. Webster became the second Norfolk Christian player to eclipse 2,000 points for her career.
In the VISAA Division II quarterfinals, No. 3 Walsingham Academy took control in the third quarter at home to beat No. 6 Atlantic Shores 55-44.
The Trojans will play a semifinal at 5:15 p.m. Friday in Virginia State’s gym in Ettrick against Christchurch or Norfolk Christian.
Top-seeded Amelia Academy ended Isle of Wight Academy's season by defeating the visiting Chargers 67-49 in a quarterfinal.
IWA's Nathan Sivertson had 20 points, but the Chargers couldn't overcome the 24-12 first-quarter hole in which Amelia Academy put them.
