Sami Vatanen scored 3:24 into overtime Saturday night, giving the Norfolk Admirals (37-30-4-1) a 4-3 victory over the Worcester Sharks in Massachusetts.
By finishing a two-game sweep of San Jose's top affiliate, the Admirals improved to 2-0 on their regular-season-ending six-game trip and climbed to seventh in the AHL Eastern Conference. They are even in points with the Connecticut Whale (at 78) but have four games left to the Whale's three.
Hershey and Manchester are four points behind the Whale and Admirals, who hold the East's final two playoff berths.

The Norfolk Tides rallied for three eighth-inning runs to beat the Gwinnett Braves 7-6 in an series opener before 7,064 at Harbor Park and even their record at 5-5.

Richmond’s losing streak reached five as the Flying Squirrels lost 3-0 to the Trenton Thunder (6-3) in New Jersey.
Matt Tracy, who pitched five innings, combined with three other Yankees minor-leaguers on a shutout. Kyle Roller belted a two-run homer in the first inning.

The Richmond Raiders beat the Lehigh Valley Steelheads 62-51 at the Richmond Coliseum.
D.C. United forward Casey Townsend scored twice as the Richmond Kickers gained a 4-1 home victory over the defending USL Pro champion Charleston Battery before 2,497 at City Stadium.
