Previous Kingsmill winners Kerr, Pak join field for September's LPGA tournament in Williamsburg

Previous Kingsmill champions Cristie Kerr and Se Ri Pak were among the players announced Tuesday who have joined the field for September's LPGA Kingsmill Championship in Williamsburg.

Paula Creamer and 17-year-old Lexi Thompson also will be in the field when the LPGA Tour makes its return to Kingsmill's River Course Sept. 6-9.

Pak won the Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill in 2004. Kerr won twice on the River Course in 2005 and 2009. The LPGA ended its ties with Kingsmill a few months after the 2009 tournament, but announced in January the Williamsburg stop would again be added to the schedule. Kingsmill hosted the LPGA from 2003-2009.

Brook Pancake, a member of Alabama's national championship team this year, earned a sponsor's exemption to enter the Kingsmill Championship.

“We are excited to announce the commitment of these outstanding athletes to play in the Kingsmill Championship,” Kingsmill Resort Vice President of Sports Operations Wayne Nooe said in a release.  We are expecting the vast majority of the best players in the world to be in Williamsburg inSeptember, and today’s announcement is a great start.”
