Two restaurants have announced plans to open up at Peninsula Town Center in the spring.
Monsoon Eclectic Modern Indian will move into the space formely occupied by Frank Beamer’s American Grill, which recently closed. Opening is scheduled for late March or early April.
Owners Darshak and Dharti Patel also own Saffron Indian Bistro, a popular restaurant at Virginia Beach Town Center. Monsoon will be a more contemporary version of their South Hampton Roads eatery with modern décor and some new menu items such as walnut and prune naan, garlic chicken tikki and Chilean sea bass tandoori.
Saffron has been in business about three years. Last year Patel tripled the size of the restaurant by expanding into the adjacent retail space.
Peninsula Town Center also will get Jimmy John’s, a national submarine sandwich chain, with projected opening in the first quarter of this year. The chain has several locations in South Hampton Roads but this will be the first one on the Peninsula.
Jimmy John’s specializes in sub and club sandwiches and features online ordering and delivery service. More information is available at www.jimmyjohns.com.
Town Center also announced that JoJack’s Espresso Café, one of its original tenants, has closed.
