Corrine Holland of the Seaford area of York County shares this photo of the dendrobium orchid bloom that she's so proud of.
A year after she bought the orchid and another one at Costco, this plant finally bloomed.
"Previously, all the dendrobium plants that I had owned never rebloomed for me and actually died from my lack of knowledge about caring for them," she says.
"Now, I'm confident that I have may found the right technique."
Last year, she kept the two orchids inside near a sunny window. In May, she put them outside in a pergola that is shade by a wisteria plant.
"The orchids get warm filtered light, breezes, and regular watering from our irrigation system that my husband so kindly installed on the pergola," she says.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
