Native plants: Saturday walk expects to see orchid, moss, cedar and berries

Gus Hall and Jan Newton lead a native plant walk on January 19 at 9 a.m. to look for all that is green this time of year at the Wahrani Nature Trails in New Kent County (Rts. 30/33).

The walk is sponsored by the John Clayton Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society and will begin at 9 a.m .

Expect to see ground cedar, tree clubmoss, cranefly orchids, Christmas ferns, American holly and partridge berry, as well as pines and numerous mosses and lichens.
