Gloucester School Board approves retirements, resignations

The Gloucester School Board approved Tuesday night a number of retirements and resignations of teachers and administrators, as well as some appointments of new staff.

Retirements include:

--Diana Joyce, a Title I reading specialist at Botetourt Elementary School, effective July 1;

--Estelle Jackson, an administrative associate at Abingdon Elementary School, effective July 1;

--Louise Klebitz, an administrative associate at Peasley Middle School, effective Aug. 1;

--Rita Cargill-Brown, director of student services, effective April 1;

--Jeffrey Helm, art teacher at Abingdon Elementary School, effective Aug. 1;

--Sandra Shipley, a bus driver, effective July 1;

--Anne Markwith, earth science teacher at Gloucester High School, effective Oct. 1.

Resignations include:

--Carolyn Molly, 4th grade teacher at Botetourt Elementary School, for personal reasons, at the end of the school year;

--Judy Snead, special education teacher at Peasley Middle School, relocation, at the end of the school year.

 Appointments include:

--Heather Toler, of Gloucester, speech language pathologist, effective Feb. 3;

--Jaime Bunting, of Gloucester, a library media specialist at Achilles Elementary School, effective Feb. 10;

--Haley Poulson, of Gloucester, a kindergarten teacher at Petsworth Elementary School, effective Feb. 13 through the end of the school year.
