On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, Tanjore, a lovely Indian restaurant in the Post Road Plaza, offers what they call "Indian Chinese" food. The offerings include Chinese noodle dishes with Indian spices and Indian dishes made with Chinese spices. My vegetable Manchurian was one of the latter. Served with jasmine rice, my four balls of minced carrots and potatoes were first battered and lightly fried, and then served up in a soy-flavored dark and thick sauce that was lightly curried and had plenty of chili in it. I have never tasted anything quite like it. After a while my mouth was burning, but I still wanted more. I think that means it was good, but maybe I'm just a masochist.
