Front row seats at Kris Bryant's Vegas wedding

Chicago Tribune

When Cubs star Kris Bryant tied the knot in Las Vegas with his high school sweetheart, Jessica Delp, on Jan. 7, the happy couple and Bryant's teammates announced the news on social media with a round of exuberant photos.

Behind the scenes, Delp was angling for a glossier version of their public wedding album: A fan of Martha Stewart Weddings, she hoped to see her wedding among the highly aspirational celebrations that wind up in the magazine's pages.

Flash-forward six months, and readers who pick up the magazine's Summer 2017 issue (on sale June 5) will get an inside look at the Bryant/Delp nuptials — complete with grinning groomsman Anthony Rizzo and Bryant in matching navy blue tuxes, the couple exchanging vows, roses and peonies galore, and a wall of doughnuts. (The doughnuts, Delp told the magazine, were Bryant's idea.)

After dinner, dancing and more desserts, the couple let guests hit the town — they headed home to their new house, just a mile from the resort where they were married.

The honeymoon? That was bypassed for the Cubs Convention shortly after the wedding. There's always next year. See more of Bryant's wedding at www.marthastewartweddings.com.
