Returning to Springfield again this summer – and during the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War – is the popular History Comes Alive program. Held June 10-August 5, visitors will be able to take a step back in time at the historic sites in President Abraham Lincoln's Springfield. Many favorite events from last year's History Comes Alive will return in 2011, along with new performances. Visitors will enjoy a wide array of free interpretive experiences at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Old State Capitol, Lincoln-Herndon Law Office, Lincoln Depot, Vachel Lindsay Home and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Vignettes include re-enactments of Lincoln's addresses and chats with Lincoln, and period games and demonstrations will also be offered each day.
