David Zivan, editor, Music Inc.

David Zivan has been named editor of Music Inc. magazine. He previously served as editor of Music Inc. from 1996-1998, before joining the staff of Chicago magazine. Zivan left that post to become editor of Indianapolis Monthly magazine. He has taught advanced magazine writing at Columbia College Chicago, and has served as a freelance writer for such publications as Atlanta, Bicycling, Book, Chicago, DownBeat, and Conde Nast Traveler.

A professional choral vocalist who also plays guitar, Zivan received a Bachelor's degree from Denison University, an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
