Sam G. Pappas, oncology surgeon, Loyola University Health System

Dr. Sam G. Pappas, a surgical oncologist, has joined Loyola University Health System. He will also be an associate professor in the department of surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and head of hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. His medical interests include surgical treatment of pancreas, liver, stomach, bile duct and esophagus cancers. He also conducts robotic surgery treatment for patients with gastrointestinal cancers. Before joining Loyola, Pappas was on the faculty of Medical College of Wisconsin. He earned his medical school degree from Rush Medical College and completed his residencies in general surgery at Finch University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago and Northwestern Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University. He also completed a basic science surgical oncology research fellowship at Northwestern during his residency. His clinical surgical oncology fellowship was at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
