Patrick J. Hudson, senior engineer, CTLGroup

Patrick J. Hudson has been appointed a senior engineer in CTLGroup's maritime engineering consulting services. He will lead the firm's efforts to enhance and broaden its maritime engineering capabilities.

Hudson's career spans more than 23 years in naval architecture and ocean engineering. He specializes in port and harbor engineering, ship stability, ship motions, computational fluid dynamics, and mooring design. He performs design and analysis and provides expert opinions in admiralty law and insurance cases. His portfolio of work has included the structural evaluation, testing and condition assessment of waterfront structures and other port facilities; repair designs of coastal structures; design and evaluation of shoreline protection measures; undersea salvage; float-on/float-off heavy lift of ships; and new construction and repair of naval and commercial vessels.

Prior to joining CTLGroup, Hudson supported clients in government, academia and in the private sector as president of Moment Engineering. Hudson has been a professor for more than 10 years, teaching courses in marine engineering, port and harbor engineering, and wave mechanics at The Johns Hopkins University and Virginia Tech.

Hudson has a Bachelor's degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, a both a Master's degree and a PhD from Johns Hopkins University.
