Advocate Health Care has named Richard Floyd the new president of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, effective Jan. 1, 2014. Floyd has served as president and chief executive officer of Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin since 2001. Prior to his work at Sherman, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Cleveland Clinic-affiliated Parma Community Hospital in Ohio. He also served as vice president of clinical services at University Hospitals of Cleveland and vice president of operations at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Floyd earned his MBA from the Yale School of Management in New Haven, Conn., and his bachelor's degree in American History from Harvard College.
