Catholic education reform group Cristo Rey Network has elected Randy Kurtz as its president and chief executive officer. Kurtz succeeds interim president the Rev. Joseph P. Parkes. Kurtz was previously head of Midwest corporate finance at Deutsche Bank. After working as the regional operations director for the International House of Pancakes, Kurtz was admitted to the University of Chicago business school without an undergraduate degree and earned an MBA, according to a Cristo Rey news release. He then joined Salomon Brothers and eventually headed diversified industrial practices at Citigroup and Credit Suisse. He has served as a trustee to six institutions, including the Field Museum of National History, Morton Arboretum, and Providence St. Mel School, he is committed to building nonprofit organizations.
