Todd Gale has rejoined Dykema as senior counsel in the litigation department and the financial services litigation practice group, which represents banks, finance companies, mortgage lenders, credit card providers, retailers and insurance companies nationwide in both individual and putative class actions, that arise out of consumer and commercial lending, lender liability and insurance disputes, as well as in defense of governmental enforcement matters against financial institution clients. Gale's practice focuses on both trials and appeals, with an emphasis on financial services litigation, complex commercial and intellectual property disputes, and class action defense. He has experience in consumer financial services class actions, having served as lead counsel in numerous putative class actions in areas such as real estate appraisal practices, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Fair Housing Act. He has tried cases before state and federal courts and arbitrators, and briefed and argued many appeals. Gale originally joined the firm in February 2006, but left to serve as division counsel, commercial litigation, at Abbott Laboratories from March 2011 to November 2012. Before joining Dykema in 2006, Gale was a partner with Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, where he practiced for 18 years.
