Richard Sherman has joined KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, as a partner serving its Mergers and Acquisitions Tax practice in Chicago. Sherman joins KPMG from Alvarez and Marsal, LLC, where he served as a managing director in its Chicago office and was responsible for further developing the private equity tax practice. Before then, he spent nine years at Ernst & Young where he was part of the Transaction Advisory Group in the M&A tax practice. Sherman holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois-Champaign, a master's degree in taxation from DePaul University, and a law degree from Loyola Law School.
