Mary Shea has been named to the new position of chief commercial officer at InContext Solutions. Shea will develop commercial strategy, direct sales and marketing and positioning the company for expansion. She joins the provider of 3D Internet-based virtual store environments for research, innovation and ecommerce from Frontier Strategy Group, a Washington, D.C.-based information and advisory services firm. In two years as chief commercial officer there, Shea tripled revenue, raised client satisfaction and built a 40-person worldwide sales and services organization. Before that, she was general manager of sales for Mintel Internationals Americas business. Shea also opened a Chicago office for Forrester Research, a technology market research firm based in Cambridge, Mass., in 2000. She has a Ph.D. in Musicology and is a former professional oboist and college professor.
