Jason Kipnis, Glenbrook North

Caught 40-yard TD pass, threw 16-yard TD pass on fake FG and recovered onside kick late in 4th to clinch No. 2 seed Spartans' 12-7 victory over No. 8 seed Loyola in Class 7A.

Derek Walsh, Maine South

Caught 8 passes for 179 yards and 2 TDs as No. 1 seed Hawks edged No. 5 seed New Trier 38-35 in Class 8A.

Boys soccerMike McCormack, Downers South

Scored in 1st OT of title match to give Trojans 1-0 win over Buffalo Grove for program's 1st Class AA championship.

Girls volleyballMegan Fesl, Hersey

Collected 13 kills, 5 blocks, 2 aces and 16 digs as host Huskies rallied to beat Lake Zurich 17-25, 25-22, 25-16 at Hersey Supersectional.

Boys cross-countrySean McNamara, York

Senior won Class AA individual crown in time of 14 minutes 33 seconds and led York to 24th team title.

Girls cross-countryRyan Eichelberger, Reed-Custer

Sophomore finished 2nd in Class A race in time of 18 minutes 10 seconds.

Shannon Phelan, Naperville North

Junior's 3rd-place finish in 17 minutes 37 seconds in Class AA race led Huskies to 3rd team title and 2nd in 4 years.

Amber Stack, Wheeling

Freshman won Class AA individual title in time of 17 minutes 17 seconds.
