Jay and Jess are a pair of male parakeets waiting for a loving home at DuPage County Animal Care & Control in Wheaton, Illinois.
Jay and Jess ended up at the shelter when their owner was taken to a nursing home.
Parakeets are the most popular pet birds and have a life span of about 10-15 years in captivity. They make the ideal first bird since they are easier to care for than larger parrots.
In the wild parakeets live in large flocks, but in captivity they prefer to be with at least another parakeet - so please be prepared to adopt both Jess and Jay since they've already bonded.
