Bond was set at $10,000 today for a Chicago man accused of running a marijuana grow house inside his West Loop home, authorities said.
Police on Tuesday night said they found approximately 100 marijuana plants inside Ryan Vrane’s home on the 300 block of South Jefferson Street. The home was outfitted with a ventilation system, grow lights and generators police, said in a news release.
Police also found more than 5,000 grams of marijuana drying in several bedrooms, they said.
The plants, paraphernalia and $1,100 were seized from the home.
The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be more than $260,000, police said.
Vrane, 31, is charged with possessing more than 500 grams of marijuana and producing 50 to 200 marijuana plants, both felonies. He is also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of steroids, both misdemeanors.
“Officers from the Chicago Police Narcotics Unit cultivated information that led to the issuance of the search warrant for the location on Jefferson,” police said in the release.
