The incident happened at about 4 p.m. today when crews were moving the train car near its freight yard and three wheels from the car came off the track, said Canadian Pacific Railroad Spokesman Ed Greenberg.
By 5:45 p.m., the car was moved and the intersection of Ruby and Scott streets in the west suburb was reopened, said Greenberg.
No injuries were reported and the incident only affected a single train car which remained upright, said Greenberg. The car was carrying non-hazardous materials, Greenberg said.
Emergency and train officials eventually were able to get the wheels back on the tracks and get the train moved, Greenberg said.
