Show season: Designers' winter favorites

French design superstars Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec lead the way into the museums with a fresh MCA exhibit and tell us what's delighting (and challenging) them this winter. Think snow, not ski bunnies.

Must-do list this winter

Erwan: Discovering snow with my daughter. I want to go somewhere in the Pyrenees, where there's more nature and fewer people wearing pink. The challenge is to find a ski place where there is no discotheque.

Ronan: Surfing

Guilty pleasure

Ronan: I don't have any feeling of guilt when it comes to pleasure

Ronan: "Mon Oncle" by Jacques Tati

Interior design in a movie

Erwan: The John Lautner house in "A Single Man"

Comfort food

Ronan: Japanese

Erwan: "Transition" by Iain Banks

Color we can't get enough of

Ronan: green

Want to travel to

Erwan: Maddalena archipelago in Sardinia

Chill out music

Erwan: The soundtrack for "Paris, Texas"

The most stylish thing I own is ...

Erwan: A sweatshirt from Issey Miyake's very first A-Poc collection

You'd most like to sit on...

Ronan: A sofa, but not any kind of sofa, the one my wife designed, Ruch by Inga Semp

What place most inspires you right now?

Ronan: Anywhere by the ocean

Erwan: A workshop, a factory
