A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after police arrested him on warrants for failing to register as a sex offender, police said.
Anthony Wilson, of the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard, faces charges related to failing to register as a sex offender, Chicago police said in a statement. Police later corrected a version of the statement that said Wilson had been charged in an October attack on the West Side. He has not, and the attack is still being investigated, police said.
In 2005, Wilson pleaded guilty to predatory sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to six years in prison, according to court records.
According to the Illinois State Police Sex Offender's registry, he failed to register as a sex offender. The registry indicates that, at the time of the 2004 incident, he was 21 years old and his victim was 13.
