A nightclub security guard was struck by a car in the River North neighborhood as he directed traffic early this morning, authorities said.
A dark-colored car struck the 22-year-old guard about 3:40 a.m., in the intersection of West Erie and North Orleans streets, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The nightclub where the security guard worked had just closed for the night, and the guard was directing traffic as occupants exited, according to police.
The car's driver did not stop and has not been located by police.
The security guard was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
