The murder of Roberta Rinearson

Herlindo Arias Perez, left, was one of the many suspects questioned in the murder of Roberta Rinearson on Dec. 21, 1948. Arias, 31, had confessed to the murder but was eliminated as a suspect by a lie detector test and statements by relatives that he was home drunk at the time of the murder. Arias was later sent to a mental institution where he committed suicide.
