Sunny Fischer

Sunny Fishcher is a philanthropist and head of Driehaus Foundation. Her family moved into the Eastchester projects in the Bronx in 1949. "I certainly understand what it is to grow up without privilege. I had other privileges, but not money, and that certainly stayed with me," said Fischer, 65, who moved to the Chicago area 38 years ago. "My commitment has been to make a more just and equitable society. Everyone deserves a chance to make something of their lives."
