A fugitive from law enforcement for months, Malcolm Logan appeared Sunday in Cook County Bond Court, where a judge ordered him held in lieu of $2 million bond.
Logan, 27, faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Lamont Coleman, 29, on April 12 in the 600 block of West 115th Street in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood.
According to court files, Logan allegedly used a .357 caliber semi-automatic pistol to shoot Coleman, of the 300 block of West 116th Street.
Logan has numerous drug charges on his criminal record and served time in the Illinois Department of Corrections for aggravated battery of a police officer in 2007.
A former Chicago resident, Logan moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Police arrested Logan in the 16500 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Markham shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.
