Cops: Woman assaulted in vacant lot

Chicago Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman Friday night in the Ashburn area.

The woman, age 52, was walking in the 7900 block of South Western Avenue, on the border between the Wrightwood and Beverly View neighborhoods, when a man approached her, police said. The man pulled the woman into a vacant lot and forced her to take off her clothes about 8:46 p.m., detectives said in an alert issued today.

There was no weapon displayed during the attack, police said.

The attacker is described as a 35- to 40-year-old black male, standing 5-foot-8 and weighing about 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and braided black hair as well as a tattoo on the right side of his neck.

At the time, the attacker was wearing a white T-shirt, black pants and black gym shoes, police said.
