Pedestrian struck by taxi in Bucktown

A pedestrian was hospitalized this morning after being struck by a taxi in the Bucktown neighborhood, Chicago Fire Department officials said.

The accident happened at 10:44 a.m. at the intersection of Cortland Street and Damen Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department Chief Joseph Roccasalva.

The person, whose gender was not available, was taken in fair-to-serious condition to St. Mary's Medical Center.

Chicago police are investigating, police officials said.
