Bicycle built for two

Mayor Richard J. Daley (front) and Dr. Paul Dudley White, a heart specialist who attended President Eisenhower, ride a tandem bike in Ogden Park to mark the opening of the first of a series of cycling trails in 15 Chicagoland parks. The paths were designed to promote safety and had rules -- only single-file riding, no speeding or racing and cyclists were required to dismount when crossing streets and roadways.
