Clinton accepts job

Secretary of state nominee Sen. Hillary Clinton said it was "very difficult" to leave her Senate seat of eight years but said her service prepared her for the job since "New Yorkers aren't afraid to speak their minds and do so in every language." President-elect Obama also announced Ret. Gen. James Jones (behind Clinton) as his national security adviser and Susan Rice (right) as his ambassador to the United Nations at the press conference held in Chicago. Tribune photo by Nancy Stone
