A driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in Bartlett over the weekend is not likely to be cited, police in the northwest suburb said.
Marek Sibiga, 41, was attempting to cross East Lake Street from a motel in the 300 block about 5:45 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2005 Dodge van traveling west, said Sgt. Georffrey Pretkelis.
Sibiga, of the 500 block of Avebury Lane in Roselle, was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The driver of the van and a passenger were not injured.
While police do not expect to cite the driver, police are awaiting the results of toxicology and autopsy reports, Pretkelis said.
