Nancy L. Schimmel has joined the Chicago office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced as a partner in its Corporate Department. Schimmel brings more than 30 years of experience in securitization and complex financial transactions, including restructuring in the areas of trade, health care, loan and lease receivable securitization, installment timberland purchases and a variety of other structured financings and letters of credit. She comes to the firm from the Chicago office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. She also was a partner in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins LLP. Before joining private practice, Schimmel worked for six years in the U.S. Banking Section of the Law Department of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (then The First National Bank of Chicago). She has an MBA from Northwestern University, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in history from Williams College.
